Economic Justice and Natural Law

In the midst of all the Block debates about property and sexual harassment, Gary Chartier has produced one of the most original, inspiring, thought-provoking "solutions" to the issue (though he isn't specifically addressing the debate and is talking at a higher level of analysis about property in general) in an essay about his new book. He treats it with great care and a return to the creative, why-didn't-I-think-of-that styles of analysis that really paints a picture of working anarchist society, the kind that always move me to be stronger in my convictions and gets new ideas flowing. He takes seriously, I think, the idea of approximation and reciprocity while coming from an Aristotelian perspective, some that interests me and should interest a few others here. Well worth a read and a discussion or two. Even if you find occasion to disagree or share some different premises, I think you will still find it important.

A positive and scientific morality, we have said, can give the individual this commandment only: Develop your life in all directions, be an "individual" as rich as possible in intensive and extensive energy; therefore be the most social and sociable being. (Jean-Marie Guyau)
If you can read this, you are the resistance.
